Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Can Managing Conservator relocate to another state?

I am the mother of an 11 almost 12 year old girl. I divorced her biological father in December 1992. I remarried in May 1994. If my husband gets and accepts a job in another state, can the biological father, who only has visitation keep us from moving? My daughter is willing to miss out on less frequent visitation especially considering the bio father doesn't allow her to attend regularly scheduled activites (dance, birthday parties, school activites, etc.) during his visitation periods. And she is not fond of the woman he remarried last year.

Thank you for your consideration!

No one can answer your question without looking at the wording of your divorce decree. There are probably provisions that require you to notify bio dad of changes in address. Follow those to the letter. If he objects, and you have followed the decree to the letter you have a good chance of being allowed to leave in most courts.
