i am currently on my way out of the marine corps. i have a job lined up to be a police officer. my wife has been in tx while i was deployed, partying and passing our son off to family nightly to do so. she doesnt have a job or even a GED.. how likly would the court rule in favor of me taking custody? I have bought evrything in our marriage.

I assume you are thinking about a divorce.
Child custody depends on lots of factors. For example how old is the child?
Which parent is best equipped to be the be the custodial parent.
The standard is always what is in the child's best interests.
Generally custody battles are expensive. You would need to hire an expert to do a social study to recommend to the court which parent would be best as the custodial parent. The non custodial parent would then have to pay child support.
Given that your wife likes to party and has no job, perhaps she would be willing to accept the role of non custodial parent if she did not have to pay child support.
