Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Marital Rights to Financial Data & Wills

I married my husband in March 2006. He has never been open with me about his financial affairs, neither business nor personal bank accounts amounts, investment values, real estate, stocks, or even things in his many vaults. I am quite sure his net worth is at least $2 million, and know that he has joint ownership of family property and business. My concern is that my husband is recently diagnosed with Stage 3 Kidney failure (he has only one kidney). Due to poor health, I feel that I should have the right to know what is in his will (he has 3 children from previous marriages.) I need to know what I am responsible/liable for in the event of his death. Am I responsible for his medical bills? Do I inherit his estate or a portion of it?

Best regards.

Re: Marital Rights to Financial Data & Wills

He can dispose of his 1/2 of community property to his children by a previous marriage if that's what he wants to do. You have community property claims on the estate which you should discuss with a lawyer for this amount of money.
