Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Marital Status

After being married less than 3 years I got divorced. It has now been 15 years since my divorce was final and I have a 16 year old child. My question is-Do I legally have to check divorced instead of single when filling out forms that ask this? I would rather check single because it has been so long and I even legally changed my name back to my maiden name about 6 years ago.

You were married and now you are divorced.

Time does not change the fact that you are divorced.

If you lie on paperwork, it can come back to bite you!
