what constitutes common law marriage in texas?

It's not that easy to explain via email.

My sister lived with a guy for 7 years and by following my advice they were NOT common law married.

Do you have any paperwork (tax returns, car insurance, health insurance, etc.) that shows that you are spouses?

That is the best proof.

It does not need to be in writing BUT you must both agree to be married, tell people you are married, etc.

I charge $100 an hour to sit down with you and just discuss your options.
