marriage after a divorce

From the date divorce papers are filed, how long does a person have to wait to re-marry? Can this period be shortened?

Waiting period for re-marriage after Divorce

There is a mandatory waiting period of thirty days from the time the Judge signs and enters the Decree of Divorce until you may marry anyone other than your divorced spouse. You may re-marry your divorced spouse (only) without waiting thrity days. Be aware that the time begins running only when the Judge signs and enters the Decree of Divorce NOT when the papers are filed.

You may marry someone other than your spouse before thirty days has elapsed if you obtain a court order permitting you do so.
