marriage without prior divorce

if a man married 1995 a year later without a divorce from prior marriage obtained a second license and married again to someone else wouldn't the second marriage be null/void? if so what has to be done to remove the record of the second marriage - both were done in dallas county

Simply speaking the second marriage is void ab initio -- meaning void from the beginning, and you will need a court order to untangle the mess.

HOWEVER -- the circumstances of each case are important. There is conflicting case law regarding the date of the dissolution of the first marriage, whether the new spouse had knowledge and continued to cohabit, etc.
