Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I am currently married and we have filed a lawsuit against a major corporation. The attorneys have taken the case under contingentcy. If I were to divorce my husband before we received the settlement money, would I still be entitled to half the settlement if it were listed as one of the assets in the divorce decree? We have only been married less than two years in Texas.

Your rights under the lawsuit would be considered PROPERTY, and would be divided in the divorce. The decree could award 100% of the rights to recovery to your husband, or 40%, or 70%. In other words, it's up to the Judge.
