Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
I married a legal immigrant in 2004. He was here on a student visa. Once we got married he changed his status over to married. He is still not a citizen. I recently filed for divorce from him. He is very abusive, mostly verbally but physically a few times. He has not signed the papers so I plan on having him served. He has threatened to kill me, my family and friends. He is involved in illegal things like selling steroids and drugs. The girl he was cheating on me with has filed for a restraining order on him. He had other people watch me and report to him what I am doing. I am trying to see if there is anything I can do to get him out of my life?

If you filed for divorce, then there are many options available to you. Your attorney in the divorce matter can advise you, and can petition the court for the proper orders to keep him away from you.
