Not Married and Preganat

I am 18 and going to ahve a baby. Do I have to give the baby the fathers name in order to receive child support. And can I get any support from the father till the baby is born. I was living with him and when he found out he Kicked me out. I need help. Maybe you can answer these questions. Thank You

You don't have to give the baby the father's name. He will be required to pay child support if you get an order from the court. Usually the Attorney General will help you with this, but it may take several months. I doubt that you can get any reimbursement for maternity expenses.

You can seek child support retroactive from the Child's birth regardless of what last name you give the child. You can either contact an attorney in your area or if you cant afford one, try a local legal aid clinic or your local attorney general's office. They may assist you at no cost. Good Luck.
