Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Getting Married and Seperate Assets

I am getting married and I have had a child from a previous relationship that is currently undergoing child support hearings to define an amount I will have to pay. Can my furture wife ever be responsible or can the courts ever go after her income if the ex girlfriend asks for an increase in child custody monies? Would it be advised to keep seperate checking accounts, etc.

Re: Getting Married and Seperate Assets

Except in a few circumstances, only your income can be used to calculate support. If all your new spouse has in wages or salary there should not be a problem.
