Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I have been married for 28 yrs. I am needing to get out of this marriage because of emotional abuse.I have a 14 yr. old daughter that wants to live with me. However because of my financial situaton I cannot afford to hire an attorney. My family lives in Oklahoma and (we are in Texas) and has offered to help me get out and get on my feet if I move there. Can I legally take my daughter with me? Please help I don't know where to turn! Any advice for me would be very much appreciated!!

Yes, you can move out of the state with your daughter.

Venue for your divorce case is (almost certainly) in TEXAS.

If you've been married for 28 years and have a 14-year-old daughter, you will need an attorney for your divorce.
