What is the law on "common law marrige" for both the state of Texas andor the United States if any?

The law of marriage is subject to the laws of the states, not of the United States.

In Texas, absent the filing of a declaration that the parties are common-law married, one must show three elements to prove a common-law marriage: an agreement to be married, cohabitation, and holding out to the world that you are married.
