Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My Ex and I went to mediation on August 17th, after everything was settled the lawyers went to a judge and the judge granted the divorce from the bench. My lawyer told me I was divorced and gave me a stamped document to file, which my parents currently have. I waited the 30 days that Texas requires and then I got married again to my new husband in Vegas. The Lawyer called the other day and said that my Ex's lawyer hadn't completed the paperwork and that he wasn't sure if the new marriage was legal because we didn't have a signed finalized decree. Is my new marriage not legal, or is it just a paperwork snafu?

It sounds like the judge granted the divorce orally from the bench but (as your lawyer should have explained to you) you are not officially divorced until the judge signs a Final Decree of Divorce. The is the court order that pronounces you divorced. The oral rendition in court by the judge is just one of the steps to finalize, it is not the final step.
