Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

medicaid,forgiveness and divorce

In NY six months.Have terminal cancer.Have a bio father of an 8 yr old in Tx.NY refused to divorce;twice.Took me in when I got sick.Has a girlfriend. Now push is at shove;NY says he cant afford copay on chemo each month.Makes 2000 a month.I was forgive for my sins when he took me back now?Threatened with stopping insurance.Do I need a divorce to go medicaid? If I go medicaid, and claim the 8 yr old I suppose Tx will go after paternity?for support.Believe me when I say being terminal and in this situation life gets very difficult.I have even spoke with his girlfriend, whats to do next????

Apply for Medicaid ASAP so you can get medical help without threats of stopped insurance. Where is your child? Have you made arrangements for her/his future? If not, make your wishes known in a written will. You should also give someone you trust Power of Atty in case you become incapacitated and can not make legal/financial decisions at any time in the future. Take care of these things so that you can have some peace of mind.
