Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
My military husband and I have been separated for 3 years. We have no property, no children, no monies in any banks together. He recently sent me a waiver of service paperwork. If i sign this, can he use this waiver of service paperwork to show later on in the divorce that i agreed and signed to pay 4000 of monies I owe him?

If you sign the waiver of service, you may not know what the final order says, until after it is signed, and you have lost recourse. A better option would be to file an answer to the lawsuit, and advise him to provide you with a proposed Agreed Order to review. If the order reflects that you owe him $4000.00, then it could be an enforceable judgment against you. An attorney would charge you a nominal sum to review the proposed order, and advise you as to the legal consequences of it.
