Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Minor child power of attorney

I need to transfer my custody of my 17 year old son to his father so that I can get him into a program that has a income requirement that I can't meet but he can. What form can I use to do this fairly quickly? It is essentially only temporary because my son will be 18 in September.

A modification can be done very quickly if everyone agees to sign the paperwork.

You basically file the paperwork at 8 am when the district clerk's office opens and walk the file upstairs to the courtroom.

Then you stand in front of the Judge and under oath read a statement to the Judge.

Of course, there must be a petition, waiver of service, final decree, TX required form and county required form.

You need a motion to modify custody. Good Luck.
