Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

misleading information

I hired a certified family lawyer to take care of my boyfriends visitation rights of his 2 children. The lawyer said he was paying too much money for child support and said he could take her to court and lower his payments, after going to court 3 times for visits, he never saw a judge and had to settle outside of it, then after the last settlement the lawyer called and said, ''oh we made a mistake and can't lower your child support'' he is still charging us for his mistake, is this ok? i don't feel it is and do not want to pay for his mistake. Can you help me? Thanks.

Re: misleading information

A certifed family law attorney is held to a higher standard than one not certified. You might make a grievance to the State Bar. Look them up in the yellow pages under "associataions".
