Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Modification of divorce decree giving non-custodial rights to clain children for

I'm wanting to find out if it's possible for a county district judge to award a non-custodial parent the right to claim children on the non-custodial parent's taxes? If it's something not agreed upon? Will the county judge's ruling superceed federal tax laws?

Judges can do it if they choose.

It sounds like you have custody and you need to maintain the tax deductions for the kids. I would not agree to let the non-custodial parent have the tax deduction.

I strongly urge you to hire an attorney to represent you in court.

My office charges a deposit of $990 then weekly payments of approx. $175/week. We refund any unused money at the end of the case.

Good luck!
