Modification of divorce
I am trying to modify my divorce. I sent my ex-husand the fiat via certified mail return receipt. The judge said I had to have more proof then the return receipt. The judge said I needed a cover letter. What is he needing?

Modifications are like any other civil lawsuit. The other side has to receive formal notification that the lawsuit is going on and be given a certain amount of time to file an Answer or they have to waive the formal notification in writing. You need to formally serve your ex (i.e. have citation issued and service done by a constable or private process server) or you need your ex to sign a Waiver of Service.
Perhaps you need a family law attorney who knows what he or she is doing to help you with this before you make any more mistakes. Modifying child custody, visitation, and/or support is complicated.
