Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

money

i was trying to get custody of my child. i payed an attorny $5500 and went to court once. he still had $2500, i called him after hearing nothing and siad he needed $3000 more for the change of county. i couldnt do that so i ask for my money back it almost been a year and have not seen it. thanks for your honest opinion
