Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Morality Clause

My ex had a Morality Clause put in the final decree, that states I cannot live with anyone until my daughter is 5. What are the repercussions if I do move in with my girlfriend? Other than contempt of court, Can the judge forbid me visitation?

Re: Morality Clause

Maybe, or at least restrict it to no overnights. My guess is that at some point you agreed to that morality clause and now it's gotten in your way. You're going to have to decide which is more important, your long term relationship with your daughter or the new girlfriend, who may or may not be a permanent addition to your life.

Hire a good family law attorney to review your decree.
