Mortgage responsibility in divorce

If our mortgage is in both my husband's and my name and we get divorced, can I just deed the house over to him and have no more legal obligation to the mortgage? This is what the broker told me.

Your broker is wrong. Unless and until the mortgage company releases you, you remain liable.
