Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I am a mother of 2 amazing boys and in the middle of an ugly custody battle for them! My oldest recently informed me that their father has been emotionally, mentally, verbally, and sometimes physically abusing them! This was news that literally brought me to knees in tears! My attorney told me that there is not much we can do because the case is caught up in the appeal courts and that we don't have much evidence and the fact that my children are so young (8 & 4). I can not sit by and let this happen to them. My boys spend a majority of their time with their father because he has primary right now. I am sick to my stomach thinking about what they go through! Does anyone have any advice? I AM DESPERATE!!!

The answer to your situation may be to contact Child Protective Services (the actual name of the organization is the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, but everybody still calls them "CPS"). Their website is found at http://www.dfps.state.tx.us/.
