can a mother appeal court disicions making her pay child support when the father took care of the child without court involvment. the child now lives with the mother.

If the appeals deadline has not expired, then yes. But she will lose. If someone was taking care of your child other than you, you owe them child support. Now that you have the child, he owes you child support. I would have argued for an offset so that you don't have to actually write any checks to him. That's why you need an attorney in these cases. An attorney will charge you a fee, but can often make back more money for you than you spend in legal fees.
