Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My mother want to get custody of myself and my brother and we both want to go back with her, but does she NEED a lawyer in Order to do this?

It is not required, since a person always has the right to represent themselves. It is nearly impossible to succeed in a custody matter without an attorney, as the process is complicated, detailed, and foreign to most lay persons. Bluntly, she may not be required to have one, but she needs one. The Bar Association has a referral system in place.
