Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Mother hiding
My husband is trying to get custody of his son (5) after he has been a victim of obuse under hands of the mother's side of the family. CPS was involved, but closed the case after talking to the mom and she admitted to hitting him with a belt so hard that it left cuts on his back and promising to not do it again and take parenting classes. She never did take parenting classes and gave guardianship of her 3 children to her mother(convicted felon - crack cocain) who does not keep the children clean and also hits them. We are able to get a lawyer through Houston Volunteer Lawyers if we find out the mother's FISICAL adress, which neither her nor her mom will disclose to us or a police officer who asked her mom about it. Her cell phone is in her astranged husband's name and her DL address is the grandmother's address. We just know she lives in houston, but if we cannot get hold of her physical address to serve her the only other option we know of is to pay for a lawyer to represent my stepson, which we do not have the money for. Is there any other way you know of how to get custody of the child because now the grandmother wont even release my stepson for my husbands visitation time. This is very urgent, please help!!!

Re: Mother hiding
There are legal tools to get this custody, but you're going to have to use a lawyer to achieve the results you want. As far as the mother's address, it sounds like she doesn't have an address. You'd have to hire an investigator or figure out some way to watch the grandmother's house for the mother to come by. The grandmother is interfering with an order of visitation by the court.

If you want to contact me, I'll see if I can find her on a couple of search engines I have access to.
I'm in a legal seminar on Wednesday until 2 pm.
