Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Mother in law trying to get custody of 1 y/o granddaughter

My mother in law has temp custody of 1 y/o granddaughter.

She is trying to get my sis in law to sign perm. custody to her. The child's father is in prison. My mom in law is on SSI and has a limited income, but she is stable. She would not be able to afford hardly anything for an attorney. My sis in law has tested positive for meth and so has her live in boyfriend, they are both homeless & jobless, which is why CPS is involved. Please help.

Check with the Denton Co. Bar Association to see if an attorney can help in this situation. Look in the phone directory under associations or call one of the judge's office. Go to the courthouse if you have to and ask to speak to the Senior District Judge. I doubt that he(she) will talk to you, but he(she) might. It is election season and he(she) will be looking for your vote. Ask the judge or his(her) assistant how to contact the Denton Co. Bar Association.
