Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Moved out of home and everything is in husband's name.
My husband of 9 months (we dated 9 years) and I have been fighting for about 5 months. I was laid-off less than 1 month after we were married (Energy Marketing Company). I moved from my parents home to the condo my husband bought about 2 years ago. I took over the payments to my car that is in his name while we were dating. He bought himself a new one. He told me to live by his rules or get out of ''his'' house and to leave ''his''. I left 2 days ago and went home to my parents. He wouldn't give me any money becaude ''our'' checking account is in his name. We tried to add my name but his mom opened the account for him when he was a minor and has to come into town to close it. I figured that he paid the bills and that when I found another job I open a new account with both our names. My question is. . . .am I pretty much S.O.L.? I never saw any of this coming.

I'm not sure what you are asking, but if you feel you need to get out of this relationship, you should consult with an attorney in you area. With very little property and apparently no children, the process should not be that difficult.
Good luck.

The best news I can give you is that you don't have kids together.
The burden is on you to "trace" the money you put into the relationship.
If you live in the Houston area, I offer a free phone consultation. Just call 713-847-6000 and tell my secretary you found me on lawguru.com
Good luck!
