Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

multiple wives at same time

My ex-husband is getting remarried, however he is still married to his 2nd wife, he also still owes me (the 1st wife) 21,749.00 in child support. when he applies for the license will any kind of background check for these be done because he will lie about both when they ask him about former marriages and if he owes court ordered child support. Also if he ends up doing the twogether program to waive the waiting period and such and he does end up marring his ''fiance'' what will happen to him legally when he is eventually caught. He is on probation/parole at this time as well.

Re: multiple wives at same time

I don't believe that anything will happen to him when he applies to get married. I know that people fib all the time when they apply for a marriage license.

He is a bigomist, which is a crime in the State of Texas.

You might want to contact his probation officer and let him know.

Many times probation will require a person to make their child support payments as a condition of being on probation.

Good luck!
