Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Is N/A an acceptable answer when filling out divorce paperwork?
1 Answer from Attorneys
It depends on the question. You can hire an attorney to review the paperwork for you. For example, my firm offers "unbunbled" legal services where we draft the paperwork, work out the financial and child-related provisions, and write the final order for one price. Since we don't represent the client in court under those arrangements--we just make sure the final order is proper--we can charge a lot less than for full represenation.
About 20% of our business is helping people fix and reform final orders they drafted themselves without the help of an attorney because those orders are causing big problems down the road. Whether you contact our firm or someone else, I think you should consider some unbunbled services just to help make sure that when you're done with the divorce, you're done for good.
