Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I am the NCP in this matter, my 16yr old moved out of her Dads home , dropped out of school and is being self supportive. I contacted the Att Gen & was advised that although the child is no longer at home with her Dad or attending school , that I will have to continue to pay child support on the child. How can I get this situation rectified? I was recently termed from my place of employment so funds are limited. We also reside about 8 hours apart , so its not an option for me to just pop in and file papers at the court house

You will be obligated to pay child support until the court changes your order. You need to file to modify child support. The longer you wait, the more that you will pay or be obligated to pay.
