Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I am needing to know what rights does a 16yr old girl have if she is pregnant? To give a little back ground: She is my 17yr old son's girlfriend and we just found out that she is pregnant, my son wants to take careof her and the baby but her mom won't even let him see her. He has a really good job and has already finished school. I just want to know if there is anything we can do to make it where he can do what most boys his age won't do.

He has no right to see the mom, who is a child under the law. However, once the child is born, if he acknowledges paternity, he will be able to get the right to see the baby. He should immediately file a determination of parentage action through the Office of Attorney General. It won't cost anything (but they are slow). He will have to pay some child support, but that's going to happen anyway. Even if they say the don't want child support now, they will and they will come after it with vigor. Best to get that set up and just deal with it. He'll also end up with court-ordered possession and access of his baby.

Congratulations and good luck!!
