Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

newborn custody

My husband and I are sperated however not legaly. I am six months pregant and decided to leave him on 4/1/09 due to him choking me. I did file a police report however no charges were filed. He has an extensive criminal background that I was not aware of prior to the marriage including aggrivated kidnapping. He has threatened to take the baby one he is born. Who has custody of the baby onece he is here. I have been the only one to provide anything for the baby. I carry the ins for him and have been the only one to make any payments to the dr. (I'm not on medicade) and the only one to buy the things needed for him once he is here. My husband does work sometimes however only under the table. What can I do to protect my son and make sure that my husband does not take him from me? I am only working part time and have been unable to find an attorney that will help do to the pregnancy.

Re: newborn custody

You can hire an attorney now and get things started before the baby is born. The divorce can't be finalized during the pregnancy, but we can get started. Call my office if you want to set up an initial consultation.
