Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

newborn infant visitation

I am a single mother of a 2 week old

infant. His father wants to take him

away from me to go visit HIS family

for the day, but I am not comfortable

with being away from my baby yet.

How soon do I legally HAVE to release

my baby to his dad for visitation

away from me?

Re: newborn infant visitation

You really don't give a lot of information. Are you married to each other? Is the man on the birth certificate?

You need to talk to a family law attorney about your options.

I charge $100 for a one hour consultation.

I assume you are not married to this man and there are no court orders that have been signed by a Judge covering visitation. If no judge has signed orders, then you probably don't have to let him take the child away from you.

If you are breast-feeding, the answer is where you go the kid goes.

Let me know if you need more assistance.

Good luck! Congratulations on your new addition!
