Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
a newly wed rights
I married on Feb 17,2009 and gave my husband 5000 to open a barber shop. He filed for divorce in April,09 and left last week. Can I get the barbershop and get spousal support from the divorce

If the barber shop was purchased during the marriage, then it is a marital asset, divisible upon divorce. You probably would not qualify for post divorce alimony, but the Court could order temporary spousal support during the pendency of the divorce, if appropriate. Sorry no spousal support but you may have a claim for what you gave him. You really need to talk to an experienced family law attorney about your situation.
