Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My niece passed away in April, I have been raising her son since, what do I need to do in order to get full custody or be a legal guardian. The fathers name is not on the birth certificate but I do know him.

At this time, the father has all of the legal rights. To get them, you would have to sure for conservatorship and notify the father. He may or may not object.

I agree with Mr. Leonard. Please do not share some of this information publicly. Retain a family lawyer. You may still be able to obtain primary conservatorship, depending on the circumstances. As the parent of a deceased parent, you have the right to petition the court for conservatorship.
