Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

non return of child

I am the custodial parent of my 15 (soon to be 16) year old granddaughter. The father picked her up (1st time in 2yrs) in June. He did not return her home. He has been in jail since the first week of Sept. She is not in school. I've contacted Child Protective Services (CPS)they never replied. She is not a ''run away''. I contacted Juvenile Services they said they did not know what to do.? However, I am responsible for her and her actions. I am at a loss of what else to do. What can be done in this case?

Re: non return of child

You need to find her -- obviously. If you were my client, I would advise you to get a private investigator immediately. I would also start notifying all relatives and friends. I would also serve the dad with a contempt petition. It might make him want to open up about where she is.
