Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

non-custodial parent signing for 15 yr. old to wed

My son is the full managing conservator (full custody) of his daughter. Can her mother sign for her to get married?

She is 15 years old.

Your son needs to read the current court order.

In Texas, one parent, both parents or neither parents can agree NOT to allow the child to marry at 16.

Once the child marries, the child is no longer considered a minor child. The child instantly becomes an adult and all support, etc. ends.

Even if the child divorces before turning 18, once an adult, he/she is an adult and the child will be treated like an adult.
