Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Non-Custodial Parrent wants to move out of state, can she stop me?
I have a 1 year old child, with a woman I was never married to. I am currently paying her child support and I have released all my rights of visitation. I never have and never care to see the child.
I want to move out of state (2,000 miles away) Can the mother of the child prevent me from doing this, even though I have electively chosen to give up my visitation rights and have never seen the child? I will of course continue to pay the court order child support ammount when I move out of state.
Thank you.

I assume that you are the father of a minor child that is currently paying child support.
If that is all true, you can move wherever you want to on the planet.
The mother cannot prevent you from moving away.
However, if you move away then she is free to move wherever she wants to move too.
I hope this information is helpful.
