Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Normal Court Actions

I had a Temporary restraining order filed against me. I filed an answer and appeared in court on date set. The judge set a ''continuance'' and I reappeared on that date. The person who filed it nor the attorney showed up. There were no calls to the court either. Shouldn't the case have been thrown out and the TRO dismissed for failure to appear in court?

Re: Normal Court Actions

A lot depends on the reason for the TRO. Was it to prevent someone from taking a child to another state? Was it a domestic violence situation? The TRO itself should dictate its terms and duration. What did the judge say at the second hearing? I'm afraid I can't give you a good answer without more information.
