Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Notification of Move
My divorce will be final Aug 7th. My son and I are moving from TX to Kansas a few days later. There is a warning in my final decree that I have to notify the court 30 days prior to a move greater than 100 miles from the co-parent's residence.
Since the move is occurring just a few days after the order will go into effect, do I need to notify the court NOW or do I just do it once things have been made final?

Re: Notification of Move
Are you sure it is only a notification, and not a restriction? If it is a notification only, then the decree goes into effect on 8/7, and that is the earliest you can issue the notice. Which means you can't leave for 30 days. You can give the notice now, but it would probably be found to not be legally sufficient.
