Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
why have I not been notified of a court date after the temporary order?
In late march my ex-husband filed a motion to modify order in suit affecting the parent child relationship. He wanted custody. I filed an answer of denial in a timely manner. Then in mid April he filed a temporary restraining order and a first amended motion to modify. We had a hearing for temporary orders 7 days later. At this time I had spoke with a lawyer but he was not able to attend on such short notice. At the temporary hearing I ask for a time extension but was denied this by their attorney. So with no attorney I reluctantly agreed to the temporary orders. That was on April 20th it is now July 14th and I have not received any further court date. My question is what steps do I need to take now.

I recommend hiring an attorney at this time.
You can always go to court and ask to review the court's file. Of course, you cannot add or remove anything from the court's file. If you want to make a copy of anything, ask a clerk and they will tell you the court's procedure.
Good luck!
