Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Obligee/Obliger

I was just wondering I got this piece of paper in the mail. Well two different pieces of paper. I have two kids. I am no longer with the father. He had my son for six months this year. I have had him the rest. My daughter he has only seen when she was born. I got a letter in the mail stating i was the obliger and that my ex was the obligee to my son. What does that mean. On the letter that I got for my daughter I was the obligee and he was te obliger. I don't understand what any of that means. I don't have a case number either I have what is called an OAG number. That does not work for my CIN number. I don't have a CIN number. I have to wait for it to come in the mail but I don't want to wait to long for it to come in the mail before some thing else happens. I am trying to find out if my ex is trying to get custody of my son. I would lke it if someone could help me.

Re: Obligee/Obliger

The letters refer to you paying child support to dad for your son, and dad paying child support to you for your daughter.

You should pull the court's file on your case to see what if anything has transpired in your case. You then need to get an attorney to modify the orders to reflect that you are the primary conservator of both children, and dad needs to pay you child support for both of them.
