Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

obtaining my grandparents will

Is it possible for my sister and I to obtain a copy of my grandparents will. We were both minors when they passed away, and my other two cousins have already taken control of their trust that my grandparents set up for the four of us, but my dad is telling my sister and I that he has control over ours. How would I go about getting a copy of the will, and what kind of documentation do I need to obtain it? My sister and I have both been of age for over 10 years now. Thanks for any help.

Re: obtaining my grandparents will

If the will was probated, it should be a public document and you should be able to look at it or purchase a copy.

You need to go to the county where the will was probated.

You might want to retain the services of an attorney that does a lot of PROBATE law in the county where the case was heard.

Good luck!
