Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

What do I need to do in order for the court to let me get my son's passport and get permission to travel with him without his father's consent? His father won't agree to sign because I have an active child support case against him, and is wanting me to close the case. What kind of petition would I need to file? I would prefer instructions so that I can do it on my own. Thank you

I never tell anyone they cannot represent themselves in court.

However, I'm an attorney and when I ended both of my marriages, I hired an attorney to represent me in court.

You need to fild a Motion. You can go to the HARRIS COUNTY LAW LIBRARY and look in the TX Family Practice Manual. Beware of people in the law library pretending to be lawyers. Thre is a disbarred attorney down there all the time that "helps" people -- he only helps people "mess up" their case!

If you have no money, try one of Houston's 3 law schools, Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program or Gulf Coast Legal Services.

Don't call "411" and ask for legal aide. That's a for-profit company out of CA that does inaccurate paperwork for a fee.

I can do the paperwork for you for a DO IT YOURSELF kit. I prepare the docs after you and I meet. I've never done one of these but I'm willing to do the paperwork. I would charge $400 to meet wtih you for 2 hours and do the paperwork required by the court.
