Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

If I owe back child support can my exwife attach a lien on my structured settlem

My exwife has kept my daughter away from me for 25 years . She has been adopted by her stepfather . I was injuried in a auto accident and am receiving disability income and a small monthly payment from an annuity that I received from a Structured settlement . Can my exwife or daughter touch this annuity in any way or is it exempt from support collections .

The simple answer is probably no. 25 years is a magic number. Once your daughter was adopted all your child support obligation ended. Only past due child support that was reduced to judgment by a court would continue to be an obligation of yours. The law prior to Sept 1999 was that child support could not be collected unless reduced to judgment before the child turned 22.
