do i owe back child support

A girl had my baby while married to another man. I did not know at the time she was my child. Her husband took responsibility and signed the birth certficate knowing the child was not his. They were legally married until October of 2006 and that is when I found out the child was mine. She is now 6. Will I be responsible for the back child support? And if so, how many years can they go back?

A child born during wedlock is legally presumed to be the legitimate child of that marriage. Absent some other action, the child 'might' be yours biologically, but legally she is the child of her mother's husband, her father.
