Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

If the parent that does not have custody of the child is unable to pickup the child at his visitation time, and will be out of state, is there any issue with a designated adult (his wife of a few years) to pick up the children and spend dinner night together with the children's step siblings?

The court order states the standard "competent designated adult can pick up and drop off...."

Yes, the designated adult can pick up the children.

Dad should write a letter (paper letter - lick a stamp - put a date on it - keep a copy - STOP USING TELEPHONES AND TEXT MESSAGING) to Mom stating that "I am hereby designating my wife Marcia Vinson as a competent adult to pick up the children for my periods of possession from now on. For purposes of identification, her Texas driver's license number is 07719771. From time to time, she will be picking up the children in my place and stead."
