parent in a nursing home

My girlfriends stepfather is not allowing her to see her mother who is residing in a nursing home. he has a list of people who can see her. Is this legal? Does she have any rights? She want to see her mother. Pls help!!!

Based on the information provided, I can't help you.

You need to know if she has been declared incompetent, if he is her guardian, what legal documents did she execute giving him this authority over her, etc.

She could call the nursing home and ask why she can't see her mom. Ask under what authority the husband is operating under.

I would strongly encourage the child (aka your girlfriend) to retain an attorney to represent her.
